Ida Lin & Tom

Ida Lin and Tom got married today on the island Schiermonnikoog. I had the honor to photograph this beautiful wedding. It was such a fantastic day! We couldn’t be more lucky with the weather, which was quite unstable the recent days and the forecasts weren’t positive at all. I was already planning alternative shooting locations. But the impossible happened: we had sun the entire day. It was an exciting experience to photograph a wedding completely myself. I am very happy with the results!

The Day Before

On the 14th of July, an aunt and uncle of me from Norway are going to marry on the island Schiermonnikoog in The Netherlands. Almost the entire family gathered on the island to celebrate this. I took a couple of pictures from the day before the wedding. It was also a nice moment for me to test the Nikon AF-S 85mm f/1.4G that I just bought. What a great lens this is! I’m looking forward to use it on the wedding day tomorrow.

The Hague Through 50mm

This weekend I visited The Hague with a few other photographers. I like this city a lot, as it is different in many ways when compared to my hometown Groningen. The coast line is nearby and there’s a lot of life in this multicultural city. I only took the Nikon 50mm f/1.8G lens with me. I like to challenge myself by just using one prime lens, but it also saves a lot of weight. We didn’t know in advance that there was a Veteran Day in The Hague, but this gave us a nice subject for taking pictures. In the afternoon we went to the beach of Scheveningen. It was a great day!

Tim

I am a really proud uncle! Tim was visiting us today and I could not resist to take some pictures of that. He is really used to the camera, which is not a strange thing if you think about it. Here are some of the pictures of Tim. He is very good in eating ice creams, as you can see.. :)

Hans & Foka: 100 Years

Hans and Foka turned 100 years old (combined age), which is a typical once-in-a-lifetime event that you don’t want to leave unnoticed. They celebrated this yesterday and invited family and friends to come over to Paterswoldsemeer in Groningen, a lake where I took some pictures earlier this year. We took a trip on a boat and visited a wind mill that was near the lake. After the boat trip the guests had a delicious dinner at the Twee Provincien restaurant. It was a perfect day for Hans and Foka and the guests!
