When there is a birthday in our family, I usually take the opportunity to take some pictures of the nephews and nieces. Children are always great to photograph. Most of them like the camera and they pose more naturally than most adults do. Today was a warm and sunny day, so we could celebrate outside. The summer is on its way!
My first wedding shoot is a fact! Today I had the great opportunity to join a buddy of mine, Martijn Scholtens, in shooting a wedding. Dirk & Margriet were a lovely couple and it was a lot of fun to shoot this wedding. I’m looking forward to shoot more weddings in the near future! The photos below are the ones I took.
The spring is almost around the corner, but we are lucky enough to finally get some snow and cold weather in The Netherlands. When the lakes and ditches have a layer of ice that is thick enough to skate on, you can be assured that most of the Dutch grab their ice skates and make a trip on the ice! I wanted to take this chance to try it out myself, as I haven’t ice skated for many years. I did pretty well on the Paterswoldsemeer, a lake near Groningen. After 15 kilometers my feet started to hurt, which was a good excuse for me take some pictures.
And The Gods Made Coffee is a rock-’n-roll, blues and punk band from Groningen. They asked me to take some pictures of their band. We weren’t so lucky with the weather during the shoot, but in a large city there’s usually a solution to that. We went to a well-known warehouse (four letters, in blue, from Sweden ;-) and continued the shoot there. In the evening they practiced a few tracks, and I took some pictures of that as well. The band was very happy with the results!
Today I did a photoshoot for Gerjan, who wanted some profile pictures that he could use for social media and his own website. I was specifically looking to add some lens flare to some of the pictures, which I really like. The pictures were made in Groningen and at Kardinge, a place near Groningen.
