Loscil – Clara

When you’re into ambient and drone music, then you should definitely check out new album Clara from the Canadian artist Scott Morgan who records as loscil. The sounds come from a three minute recording performed by a 22-piece string orchestra in Budapest. To add grit, he cut the initial three minute recording to a 7" acetate, then “scratched and abused” it to infuse the sounds with character. It’s quite impressive to see how loscil extrapolates the recording into a full 70-minute album.
